Zagazig:
It’s a city in northern Egypt with 340,000 inhabitants (2005 estimate), in the Nile Delta along the Mu'izz Canal. It is the capital of the Sharqiyah governorate with 5.2 million inhabitants (2005 estimate) and an area of 4,179 km².
Much of the economy today is linked with local agriculture, producing cotton, corn, rice, clover and wheat. There are large cotton ginning factories and a soap factory. Zagazig is connected to other urban centers of the delta area and the rest of Egypt by rail and road.
